Dazu kommen der Hochwasserschutz, die Sanierung bestehender wasserbaulicher Anlagen und heute verstärkt auch Aspekte der Ökologie bei der Planung neuer Anlagen und bei der Renaturierung im Zuge der Modernisierung von Wasserbauten und bei der Neugestaltung flussbaulicher Anlagen.
