Abstract

The chapter delves into the innovative use of waste materials such as rice husk ash, waste brick powder, and waste glass powder as fillers in warm mix asphalt for pothole patching. It begins by reviewing previous studies on warm mix design and the importance of sustainability in pavement construction. The methodology involves a standard Marshall mix design and Marshall Stability tests to evaluate the performance of these waste materials as fillers. The study highlights the potential of these waste materials to enhance the stability and sustainability of warm mix asphalt, contributing to a more eco-friendly approach to road infrastructure. The results show that a mix with 25% stone dust and 25% each of the waste materials achieved the highest Marshal Stability value, indicating a promising option for sustainable pothole patching. The chapter concludes with recommendations for future research, emphasizing the need for further performance tests and the exploration of other waste materials in warm mix asphalt.
