The level of complexity in vehicles is continuously increasing. ATZelectronics talks with Steffen Schmidt, CEO of IPG Automotive, about the core challenges for functional safety and the increasing relevance of simulation in the development process.
Steffen Schmidt has been CEO of IPG Automotive GmbH in Karlsruhe (Germany) since 2013. He graduated in mechatronics at the Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe. He was then specifically responsible for the calibration of vehicle controllers and corresponding additional functions in the area of ESP control systems at Robert Bosch GmbH, before he moved to IPG Automotive to take up the position of product manager for the simulation solutions CarMaker, TruckMaker and MotorcycleMaker.
