Abstract

The article delves into the wear mechanisms and wear debris characterization of ULWPE in multidirectional motion, comparing it to traditional UHMWPE. It highlights the superior wear resistance of ULWPE, which is attributed to its high crystallinity and dense crystalline morphology. The study also investigates the biological activity of ULWPE wear debris, demonstrating its potential for reducing inflammatory responses and osteolysis. The findings suggest that ULWPE could be a promising material for enhancing the service life of artificial joints, making this article a valuable resource for professionals in the field of biomaterials and orthopedics.
