Abstract

The chapter delves into the significance of web-based intelligent book recommendation systems in smart campus applications. It highlights the challenges of book recommendation, such as high dimensionality, sparsity, and subjectivity of user preferences. The proposed hybrid system, which integrates collaborative and content-based filtering, addresses these challenges by providing personalized and accurate recommendations. The system's evaluation demonstrates its effectiveness, with a precision of 70% and a recall of 70% under realistic scenarios. The chapter also discusses the implications for educational managers, including improved resource allocation and data-driven decision-making. Future research directions are suggested to enhance the system's capabilities, making it a valuable resource for enhancing student learning outcomes and engagement.
