The automotive supplier industry and its markets face massive changes. Cooperations (vertical/horizontal) and increasing cut-throat competition require an adoption of core competences and strategic positioning towards these trends. This paper aims at developing a competitors’ analysis of an international, mediumsized automotive supplier and its main competitors. Multidimensional Scaling is an adequate method to analyze the situation. Internal and external experts are polled. Important criteria for success of the considered automotive supplier are identified and recommendations concerning positioning are deducted.
