Abstract

This chapter delves into the factors that contribute to the perceived usability of Virtual Reality (VR) technology among conservative industrial consumers. It goes beyond the typical focus on human-technology interaction to include organizational and environmental factors. The study highlights the importance of reliability, robustness, and costs in technological aspects, as well as individual differences in adjustment to new technology. Organizational coordination, communication, and trust are also critical, along with the visibility of benefits in the contextual/environmental aspects. The research underscores the need for a broader definition of usability that encompasses these multifaceted elements, offering a unique perspective on the adoption of VR technology in traditional industries.
