Abstract

The article presents the development of zinc oxide thin films for room temperature dual carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide sensing. Using the spray-pyrolysis technique, the authors grew films on glass substrates and tested their responses to various gas concentrations. The study highlights the importance of film thickness and crystal orientation on sensing performance, with the thickest film (ZO160) showing the best response. The article also discusses the mechanisms of gas adsorption and the impact of humidity on sensor performance, concluding that the ZO160 film is a promising option for room temperature gas sensing.
