Zusammenfassung

Zinsen sind eine zentrale Triebfeder unseres ökonomischen Systems. Deswegen richten wir zu Beginn dieses Buches unseren Blick auf sie. Kurz zusammengefasst sind Zinsen das Entgelt, das ein Schuldner dem Gläubiger für die Leihe eines Geldbetrags zahlen muss. Gewissermaßen stellen sie somit den Wert des bereitgestellten Geldes dar, denn je höher der Zins ist, desto weniger attraktiv ist es, sich Geld zu leihen. Aufgrund ihrer enormen ökonomischen Bedeutung gibt es Zinsen bereits sehr lange und sie haben eine sehr bewegte Geschichte hinter sich.
