Zwischen „Purpose“ und „Impact“ – Transdisziplinäre Reallabore an Hochschulen als Elemente regionaler Innovationsökosysteme

Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft stehen vor einer Vielzahl komplexer Herausforderungen („Grand Challenges“) wie Klimawandel, Urbanisierung, digitale Transformation usw. Der Beitrag untersucht, welchen Beitrag Hochschulen zur Lösung dieser Herausforderungen in Form spürbar positiver Effekte („Impact“) leisten können und wie sie intensiver zu Innovationsökosystemen (sowohl regional als auch global) beitragen können. Darüber hinaus wird erörtert, inwieweit sich Hochschulen sowohl als Ausgangspunkt als auch als Zielkorridor für die zu entwickelnden Lösungen an den Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) der Vereinten Nationen orientieren können. Grundlage dafür ist das Forschungsdesign der transdisziplinären Living Labs, in denen Universitäten als Netzwerkknoten fungieren, die verschiedene Akteure transdisziplinär miteinander vernetzen. Aus einer anwendungsorientierten Perspektive werden in diesem Artikel drei Living Labs an der HFT Stuttgart (Campus Lab, i_city und M4_LAB) sowie weitere Beispiele vorgestellt. Society and economy are facing a multitude of complex challenges (“Grand Challenges”) such as climate change, urbanization, digital transformation, etc. Against this background, the key question discussed in this article is as to what contribution universities can make to solving the Grand Challenges in terms of noticeably positive effects (“Impact”) and how they can contribute more intensively to innovation ecosystems (both regional and global). This article also discusses the extent to which universities can orient themselves towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in terms of both a starting point and a purpose corridor for the solutions to be developed. This is based on the research design of transdisciplinary living labs, in which universities perform as network hubs that transdisciplinarily interlinks different stakeholders with one another. From an applied perspective three living labs at HFT Stuttgart (Campus Lab, i_city and M4_LAB) as well as other examples are briefly discussed as use cases with this article.
