Present we may observe a major shift in the world of computing. From the perspectives of software architectures we rely more and more on client-server solutions, i.e. decentralized computing. From the perspective of software development we rely more and more on ready-made software-components which have to be integrated to a somehow sophisticated problem solution. In the special area of intelligent decision support systems1 we have to integrate such software components as model base, knowlege-base, data base, case-base, user interface. To do so, we are forced to use systematically engineering principles like CASE and object-oriented software design (ISS 1991, S.1). The aim is to design and implement DSS more riskless and efficiently than without standards, i.e. reducing the development costs.
