The essential feature of robotic systems is their flexibility, allowing them to be easily reprogrammed to perform different tasks. It was seen in the previous chapter how variables can be used to define the positions to which movements are made. The provision of conditional branching also allows different paths to be taken through the program, dependent on the values of certain variables.
