Abstract

Dieses Kapitel befasst sich mit der Transformation der Finanztechnologie von traditionellem Papiergeld zu modernen digitalen Vermögenswerten und beleuchtet die mit dieser Entwicklung verbundenen Chancen und Risiken. Darin wird die Rolle der Finanztechnologie bei der Bereitstellung effizienter und erschwinglicher Finanzdienstleistungen diskutiert und zugleich die Herausforderungen untersucht, die von kriminellem Missbrauch ausgehen. Das Kapitel betont die Notwendigkeit für Regulierungsbehörden, Aufsichtsbehörden und Strafverfolgungsbehörden, sich diesen Fortschritten anzupassen und angemessen darauf zu reagieren. Sie untersucht auch spezifische Sektoren wie Online-Glücksspiele, Immobilien und Telekommunikation und bietet Einblicke in die regulatorischen Ansätze und Herausforderungen in diesen Bereichen. Darüber hinaus behandelt das Kapitel die politischen Ansätze und Untersuchungsmethoden im Zusammenhang mit Finanzkriminalität und bietet eine ganzheitliche Sicht der Finanztechnologielandschaft und der Bemühungen, ihre Risiken zu verringern.
