Führungsverhalten und Emotionen – ein psychohistorischer Ansatz

Zusammenfassung

Die Rolle von Emotionen ist im Führungskontext bisher nur in wenigen Studien erforscht worden. Insbesondere die mediierende Wirkung von diskreten Emotionen auf die Einschätzung der Effektivität des Führungsverhaltens wurde erst ansatzweise untersucht. Im Rahmen einer standardisierten Erhebungssituation wurden unter Verwendung des psychohistorischen Ansatzes 2396 Personen befragt. Die teilnehmenden Personen erhielten Kurzbiografien zu Führungspersönlichkeiten aus verschiedenen historischen Epochen (z. B. Martin Luther King) und schätzten deren Führungsverhalten in Bezug auf transformationale und Laissez Faire Führung sowie durch das Führungsverhalten induzierte Emotionen ein. Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass die hervorgerufenen Gefühle den Einfluss der Führungsstile auf die Erfolgskriterien teilweise mediierten. Der Artikel liefert einen Beitrag zum besseren Verständnis der Wirkungsweise von Führungsstilen. Des Weiteren wird mit dem Fokus auf diskrete Emotionen eine Lücke im Forschungsfeld zu Emotionen im Führungskontext geschlossen.
