Gaining the Lead: Accelerating the Leadership Position with GSA

While attending your very first international conference in your field, you are approached by current leaders, who promptly ask you, “So you’re running for an officer position this year? - Aren’t you?” There is an unwavering sense of responsibility in their voices. You immediately think, “Is this commonplace in organizations?” “Is this an expectation of membership?” Well if you are a part of AECT, it most certainly is. After all this is the premier international community for effective teaching and learning, where we lead by example. This organization holds a high level of expectation, chiefly that members should not only participate, but also explore their talents and expertise for the greater good of enhancing teaching and learning.
