Copper stratabound deposits, in part referred to in Chile as “manto type”, are distributed along the coastal range of northern Chile and the western foothills of the main Andean range of central Chile. They represent the second most important source of copper in the country. Some of them also contain significant amounts of silver, lead, and zinc.
