Zusammenfassung

Im August 2015 hatten sich die südsudanesischen Konfliktparteien, nach bürgerkriegsähnlichen Kämpfen, ungesühnten Verbrechen und mehreren zehntausend Toten, auf ein Friedensabkommen verständigt. Machtkämpfe und ausgeprägte lokale Gewalt halten jedoch an. Anfang Juli 2016 kamen bei Gefechten zwischen AnhängerInnen und GegnerInnen Präsident Salva Kiirs mehrere hundert Menschen ums Leben. Der Beitrag schildert Interessen der unterschiedlichen Konfliktparteien innerhalb des Landes sowie den Einfluss internationaler Akteure auf die aktuellen Entwicklungen in Südsudan.
