Growth, Inflation and Employment: Discussion and Conclusions

The papers presented under the topic ‘Growth, Inflation and Employment’ covered the advanced industrial and the developing world economies, in both instances by reference to specific cases. The industrial country presentations by Professor Hickman, Krelle and Shishido dealt respectively with the United States, Germany and Japan. These are the three most important OECD countries in terms of GDP contributions. They are all large, dynamic and generally important from an economic point of view. They are, in fact, key countries or ‘swing’ economies in the industrial world.
