The hot deformation behavior of NF709 austenitic heat-resistant steel was investigated over the temperature range of 930–1230oC and strain rates range of 0.005–5 s-1 using hot compression tests by Gleeble 3800 thermal mechanical simulator. The flow curves of tested steel were obtained corresponding to different deformation condition. The stress flow curves of tested steel were obtained and the relationship between microstructure and deformation condition were analyzed. The hot deformation activation energy of the tested steel was obtained 328kJ/mol and the hot deformation equation was established. Flow curves show that the flow instability easily occur at the strain rate of 0.005s-1 and the temperature range from 930 oC to 1230 oC with large deformation or at relatively high temperature and 5s-1 with small deformation.
