Abstract

Cloud computing has gained great popularity recently and has become the focus of attention of companies and institutions, and even exceeded that to reach the level of individuals because of the advantages it enjoys of saving money and managing with a minimum of effort. Despite all the advantages that characterize cloud computing, it remains a crisis of trust between the cloud and its users due to the concern of customers and their fear of leakage and theft of their data, and disclosure by unauthorized persons. Therefore, the best way to secure data on the cloud is to encrypt it before uploading it to the cloud, thus ensuring that this data is not viewed by unauthorized persons or cloud service providers, and even in the event of the collapse of the cloud, this data remains ambiguous. In this paper, more than one encryption algorithm will be combined, a proposed Hybrid encryption algorithm includes new hybrid modified AES and PRESENT (PHEPA-AES). The proposed scheme incorporates the PHEPA-AES hybrid encryption algorithm, which combines the PRESENT-ultra lightweight algorithm, the AES algorithm, and a chaotic map. This combination enhances the efficiency of cryptographic systems while increasing the randomness and security of secret keys. The utilization of the PRESENT algorithm and the chaotic map contributes to the lightweight nature of PHEPA-AES.
