Abstract

The movie ‘Gone with the Wind’ was released in 1939 and was based on the novel with the same name written by Margaret Mitchell, first published in 1936. The love affair of Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable, and Scarlett O’Hara, played by Vivien Leigh, was described and portrayed with great finesse in the backdrop of the American Civil War. Scarlett, from the beginning, knew that Rhett was a smart guy, but still considered him to be a gentleman, someone who really believed in the cause.
