Mapal founded c-Com GmbH in the middle of the year, making it no longer a division at Mapal, but an independently operating company. Mapal is therefore only a client or supplier of c-Com like any other company. Giari Fiorucci and Dr. Jochen Kress have taken over the management. A total of eleven employees now work at c-Com. They moved from the Mapal premises to their own offices when the company was founded.
Other tool manufacturers have since joined the c-Com platform. Projects with Bass and Emuge-Franken are in preparation. Since June 2017, tool data from Swiss tool manufacturer Schnyder and Italian company Vergnano has been maintained and shared on c-Com as part of a tool management project. Other pilot projects, for example in the aerospace industry, have been performing successfully. An example of this is the cooperation with Lübbering, a specialist in the production of drill feed units. This cooperation involves exchanging and handling data between the newly developed L.ADU electronic and c-Com. The collaboration with Siemens on the new IoT cloud solution Mindsphere for exchanging machine and tool data is also promising.
c-Com is also continuing its development and will debut four web-based modules for the launch of the platform. At the same time, various native iOS applications will be presented that will allow real-time mobile handling of data and documents.
