Abstract

This introductory chapter briefly describes the content of the book, which has 22 chapters including the present Introduction and Conclusions written by Volume Editors of the book. This book entitled Terrestrial and Inland Water Environment of the Kaliningrad Region is the first one in the series of four volumes which will be published in the coming years under the general title Environmental Studies in the Kaliningrad Region. This first volume is devoted to the physico geographical and bio-geo-ecological conditions, as well as to environmental problems of the Kaliningrad Region focusing on terrestrial and inland water environment.
