Successful companies are continually looking for new sources of talent. Even during employment downturns, good companies continue to search for sources of talent that they can develop. The research suggests that companies need to consider the untapped sources of talent outside of the traditional hiring pools. This chapter highlights examples of 20 successful organizations that have chosen to build their success on pools of disaffected workers. Other redemptive models for utilizing the talents of disaffected workers are presented in this chapter. The redemptive power of work has the potential to help people fulfill their destiny and affect the destiny of others as we work in communities of gift expression, often known simply as “places of employment.”
