With all the new technologies available in.NET, it is nice to know that at least one thing remains the same: COM+. But since “COM” is a dirty word these days, we now use the more politically correct “Component Services” term. Despite the different terminology, everything you have learned about Component Services is still true, and you can apply your knowledge in.NET. This is particularly good news for the many VB and C++ developers who have invested considerable amounts of time and money learning how to make the best use of Component Services. Having read the previous COM interoperability chapter (you didn’t skip it, did you?), you are now ready to learn how to build.NET objects that can be hosted and serviced by COM+. So let’s begin.
