Webasto plans on developing battery systems with its partner Samsung for the commercial vehicle sector.

The cooperation includes the development and delivery of a battery module from Samsung SDI. This is to be adapted and optimised to Webasto’s standard battery systems for commercial vehicles. The prismatic lithium-ion battery cells are designed to combine high energy density with good space utilization in a battery pack and can be assembled to create a battery system.

According to Webasto, the development of battery systems is one of several strategic extensions of its product portfolio.
