Abstract

This paper presents analysis of spectral characteristics of Optical Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) for sensor applications. The FBG has been modeled by using the equations of couple mode theory (CMT) and simulated in matrix laboratory. The spectral characteristics are analyzed by varying grating length from 1 to 9 mm and modulation depth from 5e−04 to 13e−04 and effect of the same on bandwidth which plays crucial role in sensor applications is presented. Sensitivity of FBG for different temperatures from 10° to 80° and strain values from 0 to 700 micro Pascal’s is also presented.
