Abstract
It has been demonstrated in Refs. [1], [2], and [3] that an elastic material with structure may be considered a kind of generalized Cosserat continuum. These investigations arrive at the same results for the linear, bipolar case, the formal procedures employed and also their physical significance are, however, not fully clear. Furthermore no particular structures have been investigated so far leaving unused the possibility of obtaining numerical values of material constants.
