Bifurcation of stationary solutions of the system of equations of electrohydrodynamics for unipolar injection

Abstract

The bifurcation of the supercritical electroconvection regimes of a weakly conducting fluid in a cylindrical space is considered. Variants of the problem corresponding to a weak disturbance of the equilibrium conditions are investigated in detail. The electrohydrodynamic stability and supercritical electroconvection regimes were investigated for a plane horizontal layer and a closed rectangular region in [1, 2]. Similar bifurcation problems arising in connection with the description of thermal convection in closed spaces were solved, for example, in [3–5].
