Abstract

The intercalation of Li into UHV cleaved layered chalcogenides TiS2, TiSe2, and InSe was investigated mainly by soft x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and related to electrochemical results by comparing work function changes to the battery voltage. The reactivity as well as the changes in electronic structure were additionally investigated.
