Abstract

In this study, nanocomposite was synthesized based on isophthalic acid/aluminum nitrate (CAU-10-H). The synthesized isophthalic acid/aluminum nitrate was studied using SEM, TEM, XRD, and FTIR. The thin film nanocomposite (TFN) nanofiltration membranes were constructed by interfacial polymerization of TMC and PIP using different loading of isophthalic acid/aluminum nitrate (0.005, 0.01, and 0.02). compared to the neat membrane for water softening, a significant improvement was observed in the water flux and multi ions (NaCl, MgCl2, MgSO4, Na2SO4).The highest of rejection Na2SO4 (94.70%) of the TFN membrane which the least water flux Na2SO4 was 32.72 L/m2 h at 6 bar.
