Russian Chemical Bulletin Aims and scope

Abstract

Chitosan nanoparticles (CS NPs) with sizes of 100–700 nm were isolated from Bombyx mori. The NPs were obtained by fractional precipitation in the presence of a surface modifier and ionotropic gelation. The optimal chitosan concentrations and ratios: precipitant—chitosan solution, chitosan solution—stabilizer were experimentally determined. AFM study of CS NPs was carried out. The influence of the conditions of formation of nanoparticles on their size and stability was determined.
