Mechanochemical Interaction of Boron Difluoride Acetylacetonate with Organosilicon Derivatives of Different Functionality

Abstract

Interaction of boron difluoride acetylacetonate with organosilicon derivatives of different functionality has been examined. Trifunctional (poly(phenyl-silsesquioxane), (C6H5SiO1.5)n), difunctional (di(phenyl)silanediol), (C6H5)2Si(OH)2), monofunctional (tri(phenyl)silanol, (C6H5)3SiOH), and not containing hydroxyl groups octa(phenyl)pentacyclo [9,51,13,9,15,15,17,13]octasiloxane (cubane, Ph8T8) derivatives have been investigated. It has been demonstrated that substantial effects on the character of products obtained as a result of reactions are provided not only by the fluorine radical formed through mechanochemical activation, but also by the hydroxide radical. The reaction products were studied by means of IR and NMR spectroscopy, size-exclusion chromatography, gas chromatography, and elemental and X-ray diffraction analysis.
