Abstract

As reported by modern dictionaries the most common meaning of the English word ‘meeting’ is prearranged gatherings of people talking mutually and making plans and agreements concerning their common future.

I am indebted to Donald LeBeau for his linguistic corrections and suggestions, Jan Joost Peskens for his beautiful photographs of Togunas, and Cas Wouters for his helpful comments on earlier drafts.
