Abstract

The modern approach to human capital consists in a comprehensive vision hereof as a crucial socio-economic resource and as a factor of public goods’ creation. Human capital acts simultaneously as a factor and purpose of development for a person, family, and society. Jointly with financial, natural and physical resources, it lay the basis of the national wealth. The article discusses the main approaches and criteria for measuring human capital, its importance in different countries, as well as ways of efficient investments in human capital.
