Abstract
Doctor Who: Legacy is a multiplatform game, available for web and smartphones, which pays tribute to the sci-fi adventure serial Dr Who from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) as part of the 50th anniversary comemorations of the program. The game is a Puzzle Quest, in which the user has to destroy blocks by turns, full of collectible characters. The central plot features the “Doctor” who has to travel through time and space to bring together all his friends and ex-assistants so as to prevent a war that threatens the universe. This study sets out to investigate the gameplay and usability of the game on mobile and web platforms, grounded on the concepts set out by Preece, Rogers and Sharp, and by observing the interactions that users engaged on.
