Abstract

To track the motion of an anatomic structure in real-time, we need very fast and robust imaging methods. However, this is often insufficient. A correlation-based approach can help here. Suppose we have an external structure (e.g. the patient’s skin) which can be tracked easily, with optical methods. Then suppose we have an internal target, which is often very difficult to track.
