More and more businesses in the tourism industry are considering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). They are asking themselves how they can reconcile social responsibility with corporate transaction and combine value with merit. The idea of CSR becomes a mere label when businesses assume social responsibility only to ease their conscience or as a means to spruce up their image. This, of course, is going to backfire, and the businesses’ aspiration for CSR as well as their credibility will be doubted.
