Abstract
Low-substituted methylcellulose was studied by IR absorption spectroscopy. A method for the quantitative determination of methoxy groups in methylcellulose films has been developed. It is shown that with an increase in the degree of methylation of methylcellulose, the number of hydroxyl groups forming stronger hydrogen bonds decreases.
