Cette communication montre qu'une erreur de signe conduisitK. Stewartson (1) à une fausse conclusion en ce qui concerne les conditions d'existence des couches limites résultant de convection libre dans le cas d'une plaque plane horizontale. De plus, des systèmes à vitesse transversale finie et possédant une température de surface non uniforme ont été analysés, et les résultats pour le transfert de chaleur et de moment sont donnés.
