Some examples concerning strictly convex norms onC(K) spaces

Abstract

Some examples ofC(K) spaces which admit (respectively, do not admit) an equivalent strictly convex norm are given. These examples consist of ideals inl ∞c (I) (the bounded, real-valued functions on the unit intervalI having a countable support) which containc 0(I).
