Dr. S. N. Singh joined US Steel Research, Monroeville, Pa., in 1969, where he is now a senior research metallurgist. Before joining US Steel he was a research associate in the Metallurgy and Material Science Department of MIT. He received his B. Tech. in 1965 from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He then joined the Metallurgy and Material Science Department of MIT where he completed his M.S. (1966) and Sc.D. in 1968.

Dr. K. E. Blazek joined US Steel Research, Monroeville, Pa., in 1971, where he is now a senior research metallurgist. He received his B.S. in materials science from the Metallurgical Engineering Department of Purdue University in 1965. He obtained his M.S.E. from the University of Michigan in 1966. Dr. Blazek then went back to the Metallurgical Engineering Department of Purdue University where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1971.
