Study and analysis on cutting forces of oblique cutting of wood

Abstract

The objective of the experiments in this paper is to find out the relationship between cutting forces and oblique angles of cutting edge. The experiment consists of 90°−0° and 0°−90° oblique cutting situations. Each type of experiment includes two wood species and two kinds of chip thickness. As a result of the experiments, the influences of oblique angle and other factors on cutting forces were revealed. The reasons for cutting forces variations were summarized. On the basis of this, we especially conducted theoretical analyses on the rules of cutting forces change.

Zusammenfassung

Diese Arbeit untersucht die Beziehung zwischen Schnittkraft und Schnittwinkeln beim Schräspanen. Die untersuchten Positionen lagen zwischen 90° und 0° bzw. zwischen 0° und 90°. Für jedes Experiment wurden zwei Holzarten (Birke und Kiefer) und zwei Spandicken verwendet. Durch die Versuche konnte der Einfluß des Schnittwinkles und anderer Faktoren auf die Schnittkraft bestimmt werden. Die Ursachen für die Änderung der Schnittkräfte werden beschrieben und aufgrund der Ergebnisse auch analytisch untersucht.
