The landslide susceptibility zonation map of the selected area from Ken–Betwa River Link in India was produced by using the remote sensing data in GIS environ in the discussed paper. The procedure of landslide susceptibility map production by considering the parameters such as geology, land use/land cover, lineament, drainage, slope, aspect, normalised difference vegetation index and soil type were generated from the Landsat Thematic Mapper 5 satellite data of 2005, the Survey of India topographic sheets, Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission Digital Elevation (SRTM-DEM) data and other existing maps is clearly explained in the paper. However the paper written by R. Avtar, C. K. Singh, G. Singh, R. L. Verma, S. Mukherjee, H. Sawada is interesting; our opinion is that there are some important uncertainties and deficiencies. …
