Abstract

A complex of computer vision algorithms by means of which three-dimensional reconstruction of an observed scene may be realized with the use of a single moving camera is considered. The depth map of a scene for each of two successive positions of the camera is calculated with the use of a hierarchical algorithm by means of a dynamic programming method. The movement of the camera is estimated by the Lucas–Kanade algorithm. Methods of reducing the influence of noise on the images and of the errors that arise in computations of the optical flow vectors are analyzed.
