Synthesis of water-soluble chitosan derivatives and their use for the stabilization of liposomal suspensions

  • Published:
Russian Chemical Bulletin Aims and scope

Abstract

A method was developed for chitosan modification using the multicomponent Ugi reaction. The obtained products are highly soluble in water in a wide range of pH 2–11. They were used for the stabilization of liposomal suspensions based on phosphatidylcholin, which retained colloidal stability for three months upon the addition of modified chitosan in a ratio of 1: 5.
