The use of titanium in family automobiles: Current trends

Abstract

Titanium offers a number of attractive features for use in high-production-volume automobiles; however, to date, high cost has been a barrier to application. This article discusses the current trends for the use of titanium in the family automobile, with emphasis on two breakthrough applications.
