Abstract

This paper introduces the conic lofting tile and is the first of a series describing CONSURF, the surface lofting program now being used by the British Aircraft Corporation. The tile is the building block for surfaces defined by CONSURF and has the mathematical freedom to match the shapes produced by manual conic lofting. It is presented as a generalization of the bicubic patch.
