Abstract

The rising current transients resulting from three-dimensional electrochemical nucleation of metals can be related to the number density of surface nuclei in terms of diffusion of metal ions to isolated growing hemispheres. Existing analytical relationships between current and nuclear density are shown to be in error and a truer representation is obtained using the implicit method of numerical simulation.
