Mechanistic insights into methanol steam reforming over a ZnZr oxide catalyst with improved activity
2022, International Journal of Hydrogen EnergyHighly sensitive electrochemical detection of Hg(II) promoted by oxygen vacancies of plasma-treated ZnO: XPS and DFT calculation analysis
2022, Electrochimica ActaCitation Excerpt :Therefore, increasing the active sites on their surface becomes crucial for improving the sensing performance of metal oxide-based electrochemical sensors. As a type of direct broadband-gap semiconductor material with an energy gap of 3.37 eV, zinc oxide (ZnO) [6] has been utilized in many fields, such as optics [7], electronics [8], and catalysis [9]. Recently, modifications of ZnO nanomaterials have been widely reported, including noble metal loading [10,11], metallic or nonmetallic ion doping [12], compound semiconductors [13,14], surface sensitization [15], and high-energy ion implantation [16].
High-yield synthesis of BTEX over Na–FeAlO<inf>x</inf>/Zn–HZSM-5@SiO<inf>2</inf> by direct CO<inf>2</inf> conversion and identification of surface intermediates
2022, Applied Catalysis B: EnvironmentalCitation Excerpt :The DRIFTS profiles from the surface of Zn–HZSM-5(12.5)@SiO2 differed significantly from those obtained from pristine HZSM-5(12.5) (Fig. 5b, Table S9). On the surface of Zn–HZSM-5(12.5)@SiO2, the formation of CH4 and ethylene was highly suppressed, while the formation of CO2-adsorbed species (b-CO32–(Zn) [83,84], HCO3–(Al) [75,79], and HCOO–(Zn) [85,86]) was initiated. In addition, bridged CO32– species (br-CO32–) at 1704 and 1200 cm–1 [79] and gaseous CO at 2179 and 2110 cm–1, which were not observed in the DRIFTS profiles of the Na–FeAlOx and HZSM-5(12.5) catalysts, were detected on the surface of Zn–HZSM-5(12.5)@SiO2.
Supported and un-supported zinc and chromium oxide catalysts for lower temperature CO oxidation: A review
2021, Environmental ChallengesCitation Excerpt :During prolonged exposure, growth units of spherical molecules forms big core sphere, which provides a proper surface energy for the attachment of active molecules of ZnO. When the aging time increases, these active molecules helps in the formation of matured flower nanostructures composed of hexagonal-shaped nanorods (Shido and Iwasawa, 1991; Fujita et al., 1995). Chromium (Cr) is a hard and brittle transition metal element with the atomic number 24.
